KAWASAKI, JAPAN, May 18, 2016 — NLT Technologies, Ltd. (NLT, President: Deshu Yu; Head office: Kawasaki, Kanagawa) announces development of a prototype 17.0-inch SXGA TFT LCD with high color rendering LED backlight for industrial use. The sample is scheduled to be available in June 2016, and also mass production is planned to start in year 2017.
The new prototype utilizes a high color rendering LED at the backlight, that achieves 90{4d5cb383d6a84e14da1e3e2dc94c94a8967ddf15367cb6f606ed0843e4e3f5e4} of NTSC enabling the panel to display very vivid and realistic color images. This is ideal for displays used in applications such as gaming and POS that require high color accuracy, as well as broadcasting, printing and medical equipment where realistic color reproduction is essential.
Typically, displaying realistic colors as they are seen in their natural environment requires the highest quality, most expensive imaging technology. However, the new prototype achieves wide color space by applying conventional technologies such as optimized design of backlight system, in addition to equipment of high color rendering LED. Since it follows most specifications of conventional industrial displays, a relatively simple drop-in replacement is possible.
NLT Technologies will contribute to evolving industrial equipment market by developing LCD displays with high color rendering LED backlight.
The prototypes of new LCD module will be showcased at Display Week 2016, May 24 to 26 in San Francisco, California, USA, in booth 905, and Computex Taipei 2016, May 30 to June 4 in Taipei, Taiwan.
